What is "Golden Hour"?

You've probably heard the hype about Golden Hour photography, but what is Golden Hour? Why is it so popular?

Golden hour takes place in the hour before sunset. During this time the sun's position allows for a warm, golden light to bask over the earth. This golden light creates depth and vibrancy that take your portraits from flat to incredible. It helps creates images that you feel like you can step inside of. The sinking sun also helps create sun flares that delicately wrap around your family, creating those fun and magical images. I have spent hundreds of hours out in golden hour to perfect my technique. I've also taken professional masterclasses held by accredited photographers. It's easy to end up with washed out or hazy images if your photography doesn't quite understand the angles and camera settings needed. I aim to ensure that you receive golden images without compromising the clarity of your portraits.

Another wonderful benefit of Golden Hour sessions is it's a great way to beat the heat! We all have fallen victim to the intense Florida sun at one point or another. It's easy to get overwhelmed and uncomfortable during outside sessions, especially for the kids.
